Choosing the right doors for your home is a big decision. A lot of different factors come into it, the aesthetic, the functionality and of course your budget. We're going to give you some pros and cons of three popular choices of doors, bi-fold vs, sliding, vs French doors, which is the best option for you?
Bi-fold Doors
Bi-fold doors can be made up of a number of different panels, as many as you'd like, they can be designed to open all in one direction or open in the middle, there's a number of configurations to choose from depending on your personal preference.
These doors are highly durable, have slim sightlines and add value to your property.
Bi-fold doors can essentially replace a wall in your home, letting in lots of natural light and can be fully opened, allowing for an uninterrupted view, but due to the way these doors open, you would ideally want a static door for a quicker and easier access. You will also need to account for the space taken up by the stack of doors when the door is fully opened and they are a more expensive option.
Sliding Doors
Sliding doors work by having one door panel sliding behind another door, or two doors that open in the centre, sliding out over the fixed other panels.
They offer great open views and lots of natural light as well, however they can't be opened out fully, meaning you won't have a completely uninterrupted view and the flow from inside your home to outside will be partially restricted.
Sliding doors take up the least space and they're also easy to operate which makes them a good option.
French Doors
French doors are a classic option. They comprise of two separate doors which open outwards. These doors are the lowest costing, allow easy access and they're durable. The doors can open out 180 degrees, should you have the space to do so, which means you can have uninterrupted views and a seamless flow from inside to out.
French doors aren't as secure as bi-folding doors due to them having one locking point instead of multiple like the bi-folding doors.

Ultimately, the decision is up to you. Considering your personal needs, preferences and the space you have available, you can make an informed decision on which door option suits you and your home.
Take into account your budget, however you may find that certain elements of a more expensive door are worth you taking a little set back.
